April 2025 Alumni Update

It was in April, after the long months of indoors and the early months of outdoors, that I’d see the remarkable emergence of a team, the coming together of many as one, the rise of a singularity of purpose, of will, of expectation, of outcome, transcending a world of differences by wearing the same shirt and listening to the same coach. I was always startled by the transformation, the unlikelihood vanquished by the insistence, the persistence. Runners, throwers, jumpers, vaulters, from so many backgrounds, from so many places, as one. We're still a team now. The challenges have changed, but the singularity remains, there for each other, a wondrous gift.
